Dry Drayton Parish Council. Report on the May meeting

This Parish Council meeting was the Annual Parish Council Meeting. Prior to the formal Parish Council agenda, Miss Fletcher, Strategic Planning Officer and Miss Shilton, the Rural Housing Enabler, made a presentation outlining the results of the recent Housing Needs Survey. These officers were thanked by the Chairman for their input and the survey findings will be an agenda item at the June Parish Council meeting.

Co-option to fill Parish Council Vacancy. Mr. F Northrop was proposed and seconded to fill this vacancy.

Village Plan. Work continues on this project and replies to outstanding correspondence are awaited.
Housing Needs Survey. As noted above, findings will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting.

A14, improvement schemes. The Chairman presented his ‘Statement of Case’, outlining the concerns of the Parish Council regarding the traffic route through the Village. The Chairman and Mr. R Stamford will be attending the pre-inquiry meeting.

Finance. The Statement of Accounts for the year were presented and agreed. Disbursements were £264.38, grass cutting, £10.00 ‘bus shelter glass cleaning and £549.62, P. Council Insurance. The Parish Council agreed the purchase of a new ‘Receipts and Payments’ book. A grant of £705.96 for grass cutting has been received from the C. Council.

Next Meeting The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on 15th June 2010. The Community is reminded that Parish Council agenda items should be sent to the Parish Clerk, in writing, at least 14 days prior to the Parish Council meeting and that village organisations are invited to forward short reports on their activities to Council meetings.

South Cambridgeshire Local Strategic Partnership small grant scheme for 2010/11.

This scheme is open to voluntary and community sector organisations. The maximum grant in any one year is £1000.00. Application forms with the relevant rules and conditions are available from the Parish Council Clerk or are available on http://www.cambs.gov.uk/lsp. This website also gives details of allocations since January, 2009.
