Report on the March 2010 meeting

Village Plan. Work continues on this project. As previously noted, three Parish Councils are now involved in the negotiations for a safer cycle way into Cambridge.

Housing Needs Survey. Findings and conclusions are awaited.

Footpaths. The Parish Council continues to organise relevant work but, in the interests of wildlife and vegetation, major clearances have been suspended until the Autumn. The expense involved in spreading ‘chippings’ has been assessed and Community Services are aware of the need for labour on these improvements.

Vacancy.  Mr. Marvin Dimon has tendered his resignation from the Parish Council. The resulting vacancy will be advertised in due course.

A14, improvement schemes. The Parish Council monitors the works proposed and is concerned about the possible increase in traffic through the Village. Correspondence on this important matter continues and the objections of Dry Drayton have been registered. Meetings with the Highways Agency and Local Authorities are scheduled for September/October, with a final report at the end of the year. Mr. Stamford has offered to assist with the various consultations.

Finance. Disbursements were £572.00 for Clerk’s salary.

Training. Reports awaited on specialist subject training.

Planning Applications. An application for property alteration has been received from J. Edwards, Scotland Road.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on 20th April. This will be preceded by the Annual Parish Meeting, which will commence at 7 p.m.

The Community is reminded that Parish Council agenda items should be sent to the Parish Clerk, in writing, at least 14 days prior to the Parish Council meeting and that village organisations are invited to forward short reports on their activities to Council meetings.
